Description: Racal Instruments announced the 1255A Switch System which provides four slots for VXIbus C-sized 1260 series switch modules. The 1255A enables systems designers to lower overall cost by choosing this low-priced chassis rather than using a larger VXIbus unit. The 1255A also provides a greater value than traditional GPIB systems that do not have the relay density offered by C-sized VXIbus modules. This new approach dramatically reduces system costs when only a few switch cards are needed and allows users that have not yet decided on VXI to implement with little risk. The 1255A is controlled via an internal IEEE-488 or RS232 interface.
