Description: The Ericsson EFR 3000 fiber recoater is a complete system for recoating optical fiber splices which have an outer diameter of 250 and 400 um. With an optional insert for the fiber holder it can also be used for 900 um fibers. The unit restores the primary coating by UV-curing the acrylic coatings of the spliced fibers.
Recoating polymer is injected into specially designed, plastic moulds and during the UV-curing process the coating is restored. Moulds are available for 250, 400, and 900 um diameter fiber.
The EFR 3000 can also be used to test the tensile strength of fibers, either before, after or separate from the recoating procedure. In the latter case, it is not necessary to place a mould in the recoated.
Includes the wooden case, a manual, and a power supply.
