Extensive damage to the rear vacuum housing (Photograph 9), cover was removed to show internal vacuum system. Pulls a vacuum of -850 mbar where -1013 would be absolute zero. Vacuum pump does work, but doesn't work to specifications. The mount area designed to hold the vacuum pump is somewhat loose and the system makes a fair amount of noise and some slight squeaking. System temperature somewhat matches the settings when it was adjusted throughout the range, much closer to expectations when given a chance to heat up over time. There is some cracking to the front number plate by the "Stop" button from firmly pressing it in. The rubber feet on the bottom have yellowed and are cracking.
Combines centrifugal force and vacuum. For gentle concentration of DNA, RNA, nucleotides, proteins, and samples for gel electrophoresis.
