This is a refrigerated centrifuge, that we tested down to an operational temperature of -10 oC. System spun up, ran the samples at the set speed, and terminated at the completion of the preset run time. The low temperatures causing condensation to freeze on the walls of the chamber (Photograph 5). The internal walls are in sound condition.

There is a TX-1000 75003017 installed in the system with four TX-1000 75003001 buckets installed. The rotor when used in a refrigerated atmosphere and after a run should be opened and allowed to reach temperature. If it doesn't the ice will warm and moisture will interact with the aluminum buckets forming aluminum oxide. Harmless, but it does cause pitting to buckets and facings (Photograph 10, 12, 14-18). There is also a small amount of surface rust to the rotor (Photograph eight). None of this impacts the function of the system.
